Tuesday, Oct. 24th

Hi Everybody,
Let's try this as a new thing. Feel free to post questions for each other to answer in the comments section for each assignment:

For tomorrow, find the location of the vertex of your
function, and the equation of that function. Also answer the following:
You are hunting in the enchanted forest again. There is a
fixed cost for a hunting permit, and you can make a certain amount of money per
magic cobra that you kill. If you kill 5 cobras you have a net gain of $900 but
if you only kill 1 you are down $100. When you get home you find out that the
magic cobra protection league is fining everyone $100 for the first cobra you
kill,$400 for killing two cobras, $900 for killing three, $1600 for filling 4,
etc.
a) Find
the function that represents how much money you make in the magic forest.
b) Find
the function that represents how much money you are fined based on the hunting.
c)
Find the number of cobras you can kill (other
than zero) where the money you make will match your fine.

take care,
Mr. G
